Lead Solution & Enterprise Architect
I set the target architecture and stay close enough to the teams who build it for it to hold in production.
In short
Clients bring me in to set the target architecture of a programme that is starting, to standardise a cloud foundation, to make exchanges between applications reliable, or to prepare a decision on costed options.
In IT since 2008: food retail, then pharma as an architect, and since 2021 independent through Black Cloud SRL, in energy and automotive. I am TOGAF 10 and PRINCE2 certified.
What I do
Solution architecture
From a business need to a built solution: I set the target and support the teams who build it.
Azure cloud and platforms
A shared, secure, reusable foundation that every new project starts from.
Integration architecture
Reliable exchanges between applications, with partners and around reference data.
Enterprise architecture
A factual basis for decisions on the application portfolio.
Architecture review and advisory
An independent view before you commit: go/no-go, platform choice, tender, go-live.
Technical leadership
Leading a team of architects or developers, or covering a Head of Architecture role on an interim basis.
Selected case studies
CE 2021
A connected medical device
For a global biopharmaceutical group, I covered every IT aspect of a connected autoinjector and its companion app, itself a medical device. Solution delivered; the autoinjector received its CE mark in 2021.
≈ −70%
An HR portal about 70% cheaper to host
Staff access automated by connecting the HR system, badges and provider, and a modernised portal whose hosting costs about 70% less (measured).
3 days
Three-day recovery across 135 interfaces
For a car importer’s parts platform, connected to about 135 interfaces, I designed the backup and recovery architecture that meets the three-day target set by management.
A project, a review, a decision to prepare?
On assignments in Brussels and Wallonia, hybrid; elsewhere in Belgium with a large share of remote work.
